Boys Varsity Wrestling · Bexley’s young Wrestling team making strides behind Brenner’s leadership

BEXLEY – With only two seniors leading a group of over 20 sophomores and freshman, the young Lions wrestling team boasts a 4-3 record in dual meets at the halfway point in the 2019-2020 season. Standout wrestlers for the Lions are team captain Carter Brenner (12-4), Noah Lyons (15-4) and Anthony Samson (9-4).

When talking with Head Coach Chris Bragg about his team he had this to say, “With great leadership from Carter and others, this team is starting to come around and fix some of the youthful mistakes we’re making. We take it one day at a time and try to fix something each day to get a little better. We’re definitely not where we want to be yet, but I think we’re headed in the right direction.”

With the leadership of Coach Bragg and his two seniors and promising young talent on the roster, the Lions wrestling team is looking to build momentum heading into the post season and for years to come.

Catch the Lions wrestlers back on the mats this Friday and Saturday at Licking Heights for the annual Licking Heights Invitational. Wrestling will begin at 5pm on Friday, and 10am on Saturday.
