Girls Varsity Soccer · Girls Soccer Advance to First District Title Since 2013

The Girls Soccer team beat Worthington Christian 2 to 0 on Wednesday night to advance to their first District Final since 2013. The Lady Lions scored first on freshman Isabel Niermeyer’s breakaway goal, off a long pass from junior, captain Goalkeeper Katie Jude, to give the Lions the lead midway in the 2nd half. After withstanding several Warrior attempts to score, Ava Joseph was fouled in the Worthington Christian defensive zone and was awarded a free kick. Sophomore Molly O’Dell stepped up to deliver a perfect lob pass to fellow sophomore Sofie Sheridan, who headed the ball past the Warrior keeper to secure the win for the Lady Lions. The Lady Lions played an excellent team game and are looking forward to playing for another District Title at home on Saturday, October 31st at 4 pm.
