The Bexley Lions overcame a 13-3 halftime deficit Friday night to beat Buckeye Valley 24-13 on the road. The Lions got on the board in the second quarter with a 25 yard field goal by Sophomore Sam Powers which cut the Barons lead to 6-3. The Barons were able to add a TD late in the half to head to the locker room up 13-3. The Lions came out of halftime looking like a new team as they marched down the field on the opening drive of the second half, chewing up almost 7 minutes of clock, and Senior Troy Redman capped off the drive by finding the end zone from 23 yards out to cut the lead to 13-10. The Lions forced a 3 and out and once again marched down the field, this time Senior Patrick Beck found the end zone on a 15 yard run to give the Lions their first lead of the game, 17-13. Midway through the fourth Beck was able to find the end zone again, this time on a 5 yard run to give the Lions a 24-13 lead. Redman finished with a career high 201 yards on 25 carries and Beck added 90 yards on 20 carries.The Lions are on the road at Whitehall Yearling High School next Friday at 7pm.
